About my cakes

My look is dramatic, romantic, contemporary and fun, with an emphasis on clean lines, minimal shapes and simplicity. I firmly believe that in cake design, as with all other design, "Less is More".

I love working with couples to reflect the mood of the wedding. Each cake is individually designed to provide the opportunity to break the rules and express personal style. No two cakes I have made have been the same.

I have an eye for pattern and color and am noted for hand-painting on rolled fondant, often of abstract flowers in watery pastels or vivid hues. My sugar flowers are soft, playful and modern. I love surprising details and texture: appliqué flowers or randomly placed sugar petals. Some of my most distinctive cakes are those on which I'm granted free reign.

Inspiration comes from many sources: lace, pleats, bows or beading on a wedding gown, pearls worn by the bride, flowers featured in bouquets or centrepieces, the colours of the attendants' gowns - even a trim on the wedding invitation can lead to a unique and stylish cake design.
