Andrea Webster is a freelance baker specialising in dramatic and romantic wedding and special occasion cakes.
She is based in the Spey Valley, halfway between Aberdeen and Inverness in the north-east of Scotland.
Formerly a full-time chef with a passion for baking, she started her business in the USA in 1993 and has been featured in the Grampian Wedding Directory, Condé Naste BRIDES, the Washington Post Food Section, Washingtonian Magazine, Pastry Art & Design, VOGUE Entertaining (Aust.), The Baltimore Sun, Cleveland Plain Dealer, Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, The Perfect Wedding Cake by Kate Manchester, and many other bridal publications.
Originally from Australia, Andrea’s background is in hotel and catering management and tourism.
She lived in the USA for 18 years, spending the first seven as Chef to the Australian Ambassador in Washington DC. During this time, she started making wedding cakes and eventually resigned from the Embassy in order to focus full time on cakes. In 2003 Andrea & her family decided to get off the treadmill and move to idyllic Scotland, where her husband grew up.
After a three-year reprieve she has been drawn hopelessly back towards her passion: the cake business.
Andrea inherited the baking gene (if nothing else) from Great Uncle David Webster of Webster’s Biscuits, Brisbane, Australia, formerly of Crail, Scotland. She likes to feel she has brought the family full circle…
Andrea believes that a cake should taste as wonderful as it looks. Her cakes are original, contemporary, whimsical and delicious.
